In the Gold book.... AGAIN!!!

How proud we are!!! Today you received another Gold book Certificate and head teacher award, this time for reading 10 books at home!
We cannot believe how you are coming along in leaps and bounds, your reading is getting really good, and your writing is too. Your teacher, Mrs Luxford, only had good things to say about you at parents evening.
Well Done!!!

Well Done Kyle!!
You came home in the week with a gold book certificate for writing a sentence about a fire engine!!!
And then today, you had your head teacher badge on your shirt when I picked you up from school, and you told me that you had a green jelly baby when you got your sticker.

You were also mentioned in the newsletter under celebrations, it said: This week we are saying a big Well Doneto Kyle Smith for writing a really good sentence...
Mommy and Daddy are bursting with pride!! Well Done!!!

Leaps and bounds....
Each day I open your book bag with excitement to see what you have done at school. Sometimes I still have to pinch myself to believe that my little boy is at school - doing letter sounds, learning to read, and becoming so independent.
You have settled into school really well, and have made lots of friends. Iknow this because you informed me that you have invited Grace, Heather, Joseph, Oliver Jones and Oliver Frazer to your Ben 10 party!??!?! (WHAT Party!?!?!?!) I'm hoping you are just planning in advance for April and not expecting something sooner!!
Your school is great at involving parents, and we have already attended so many things with you at school, like your christian assembly, where Janet (from Langstone church)was singing - you told her in front of the entire assembly how much you enjoy playing the guitar!! We also attended Autumn Harvest Assembly and watched you take part in a presentation of a poem to all the mommies and daddies.... We were so proud to see you (even if you did stand singing whilst lifting your T-shirt for everyone to see your tummy!!) We also came to watch you in your skipping demonstration, and you enjoyed making Banana bread for the food week. Mommy came to the school for an hour that afternoon, and you loved showing me your 3 little pig house that was on the wall, and showing me all the games that you play.
The best thing so far though has been to join you for family lunch. Grandma, mom and Adam came once, and then mommy and daddy came the next time - it was great to sit and chat to you and your friends and see you in the playground playing with all your friends after lunch.
The other day you came home with this certificate in your bag...
and a couple of days later... another!!
WELL DONE KYLE!! We are all so proud of you!!!

Harvest time!
What a little farmer you are!! You proudly dug up your carrots, picked your tomato's and corn - and we all ate it for sunday roast dinner... the carrots were divine and you were so proud to be able to have contributed to dinner, and kept telling us what a brilliant farmer you were!! Your ambitions for next year are now greater, and you want to plant alot more things!!!

Starting Big School

Well today is the day you started school. You were excited, but I sensed a little anxious. You look so cute in your uniform. The school day runs from 08h55 – 15h15... quite a long day considering you are used to only two and a half hour sessions at pre-school. However, it is now about 9 days in and although you are still a bit teary when we say goodbye, you come running out of school full of the joys of spring. I think you are really enjoying it.

Adrenaline Junkie....
Check you out!!!
You have listened to mommy say "you're not old enough" everytime we pass the bungee swing/trampoline... but this time your little friend Jack was queueing up to do it, so you weren't ready to hear ANY excuses...
They strapped you up and you had a big beaming smile on your face!!
Then it was time to start the bouncing... you loved it....
You were a little nervous to do any fancy tricks and somersaults, so you just stuck to bouncing really high....!! You said you were Ben 10 (your new favourite superhero!)

The end of Westover Pre-school
We dropped you at school on Friday the 18th July for your pre-school leavers party... and what a ball you and all your friends had!! There were tables of shaving foam, a big bucket of jelly, muddy water to be thrown at walls, along with party food, and music etc....
You were Filthy when we picked you up!! thankfully you had a change of clothes!!!
You had to say goodbye to all your friends, although we will still be seeing your special friends on play dates.
And you hugged your teacher Debbie, with a promise to go back and visit
A bit sad, but there are many more exciting days ahead at your new big school Moorings Way, where you start on the 5th September 2008. Not sure who is more nervous.. you or mommy!!?!

I am a Big Brother!!

Here you are with your new baby brother. You were very good at Barb and Ian's while mommy was in hospital, and you couldn't wait for daddy to fetch you from Pre-school so that you could come home and spend time with him on Thursday!
You even came home with a special card for him that you made at pre-school, it said Hello Adam on the front, and you had drawn a picture of you and him on the inside.
You are so good with him, his crying makes you giggle, although i'm sure that novelty will wear off, as your brother seems to have a good set of lungs on him!
you are very gentle, and it's good to see how caring you are with him. I am sure in days and years to come, this will change and before we know it, the two of you will be rough and tumbling all over the place!
For now, I hope you enjoy this special time, and with many memories created on here, you and your brother can look back and see how things were when Adam entered our lives.

The end of a chapter!

You've received your invite for your school leavers party next friday at pre-school....
We've received your file with all your work since joining in January 2007. You really have come a long way in the last year and a half.
Some of the stuff in your file really made us chuckle, like this page all about your family!

The best part being how incy wincy spider grandad is 93!!
You've done all your settling in sessions for your big school and will be starting on the 5th September. We have your uniform - and mummy had her first experience of sewing in name tags!!! Quite a success for someone who cannot stitch on a button!!
I'm sure you will miss all your friends at pre-school, but we'll still make sure we see some of your special friends.

Veggy Patch
When we moved into our house, you were very excited to be able to finally plant a veggy patch.

Daddy cleared out some of the overgrown bushes from the garden bed, and you were very excited to find we have a resident frog living under there!!
You planted tomato, carrot, lettuce, Mealie (corn) and Sunflower seeds, and watered them with your little watering can.
A month or so later, and look at the results! you are so pleased with your patch that everytime someone comes to visit you drag them out to look at your vegetables!

Oh.. and of course Finn kept a watchful eye on the proceedings to make sure we were all doing it correctly!

Kyles Pre-school Report
We are coming to the end of a chapter - and the start of a new one! only a couple more weeks of pre-school, then it's the summer holidays, and the start of Big School on the 5th September.
Yesterday we got your transfer records from your pre-school, and we are so proud of how well you have done during the time you have been there!
Here are some pages from your transfer record booklet....
(Kyle has been a pleasure to work with, he is happy to initiate conversations with both adult and peers. Kyle had a really good memory and it's lovely to hear him recall in great detail, events that he has seen or participated in. Kyle is eager to learn and he has ben making good progress in all areas of the E.L.G. I will miss Kyle in my keygroup and wish him lots of luck.... Debbie Smith)
This is a picture of the leaning tower of Pisa. The note attached from your teacher says: 03.06.08 - Kyle tells me that he went on a boat to Italy. The boat had a swimming pool and he said he saw the leaning tower of Pisa. Gramps came on the boat.
This photo has a note attached that reads: 5-01-08: Kyle is able to follow instructions on computer programme to complete the activity. He shows very good control of the mouse. Kyle is able to click and drag puzzle pieces on a computer programme to form the correct picture. he concentrates well and follows instructions well all unaided.
Here you are using programmable toys:
And in this picture the note says: Feb 08 - Kyle knows how to use a knife and fork. We made our own pancakes and then ate them... Yum Yum!!
WELL DONE!!! We can't believe our little boy is growing up so quickly!!!
