I wish that we had thought to do this little sooner... however, at three years old, i'm sure there is still so much we can contribute. There are so many things Kyle does, and so many cute phrases and words he comes out with, that we wanted a place to store it all, so that in times to come, we can relive them when we take a stroll back through memory lane. We hope you enjoy reading them too.....

Back to School - Year 1

You are now in Year 1 - growing so fast! You have already enjoyed friends birthday parties, a dress up as a book character day - you chose Harry Potter, and spent the morning trying to cast a spell on your brother!!!

You have been in the Gold book and received a Head Teachers award for a project you did on beginnings,
and at parents evening we were told that you are excelling in all areas, are on the school council and a gifted reader. We could not be prouder! .

Your days in Year one are extremely busy, you have afterschool club on Mondays, Swimming on tuesdays, Sunshine club on Wednesdays, Tag Rugby Thursdays, and Football on Fridays.... Keeps us both very very busy...

You are a very good big brother, and Adam idolizes you.

It's almost christmas and already your list has been sent to Father Christmas, and you are eagerly awaiting tomorrow morning when you can begin the count down with the opening of your advent calendar! (a transformers one of course!)

Happy Halloween

As there wasn't much going on for the kids during October break, me and a friend organized a party at Kyle's school. It was fantastic. We had mums volunteer to do face painting, another mum who was a magician called Fairy Godmother Jelly bum, we had a craft table, decorate a biscuit table, and a kiddy korner.... Everyone bought a plate of food and we all sat down for lunch together. It was great fun. even a prize and certificate for the best dressed!!!

Kyle had great fun decorating the house for Halloween. We took ages making a web for the giant spider on the side of our house.. and Kyle loved doing all the plants and the front door with more spiders. He even created a bat out of a paper plate and stuck that on the wall. it looked FAB!

We then went to Olivers house for a party, Lisa had gone to town with decorating the house, and party games, fireworks, yummy food and a delicious fruit punch for the mummys and daddys!!! Then it was off trick or treating gathering buckets of candy! The amount Kyle had should last until NEXT year!

Remembering Summer....

Summer was good. As usual we managed to cram lots in - and before we knew it it was time to get back to school... but not as the baby anymore. No... Our little boy is growing up.

More about that later. Here are a few pics from Summer:

All grown up!!

Well, you've turned five, and it feels like overnight you have grown into a young man!!!
Your reading is phenominal, it seems to have opened up a whole new exciting world for you, and you are rarely seen without your nose in some or other book. You are the first in your class to advance to orange level (which is the level for most Year 2 children), and you are forever getting around your dad to buy you a new book!! apparently i've been informed that you have been promised another this weekend!!! I bought you FIVE two weekends ago, but you're already bored with those!!!

Here are some pics I snapped of you recently. Even at the church tent event, you were happier to sit reading friends with frakenstein, instead of helping mom run her cake icing table.

You are loving the fact that Adam is becoming more of a playmate. He is on the move and you and him chase each other on all fours around the house... He copies everything you do, as he seems to idolize his big brother.... for example, when you have an ice lolly, Adam has to have one, and he watches you eat it and copies you. It's lovely to watch, and I think it makes you feel very important.

You are riding your bike without stabilizers, and this weekend you and dad went out into the common on your bikes!! the sun was shining and it looked so lovely to see you bombing along next to your dad, the sea in the background!

Oh, you love to wear daddy's aftershave to school, after you've gelled your hair of course... and I think we've figured out the reason why.....

This is what we spotted written on the whiteboard in your room!!! Lois is a little girl in your class!!
I must admit. It did make us smile!!!

Easter Time

How excited you were this morning to go to school wearing your easter bonnet... you loved squeezing the chick on the top and making it cheep cheep!!!

Today is the last day of school and you are looking forward to the holidays...

I have frantically just written your invites to your party, as I realized you go back to school the week of your party!!! We need to give your friends some notice! You informed me a couple days ago that you had invited some year 1 and 2's too!!! but for this year, its best we stick to your class only - there's 19 there after all!!

here you are, all proud in your easter "bonnet"!!

Before I was a mom...

Before I was a Mom
I slept as late as I wanted and never worried about how late I got into bed.
I brushed my hair and my teeth everyday.
Before I was a Mom
I cleaned my house each day.
I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.
Before I was a Mom
I had never been puked on - Pooped on - Spit on - Chewed on, or Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind and My thoughts.
I slept all night.
Before I was a Mom
I never held down a screaming child so that doctors could do tests...or give shots. I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.
Before I was a Mom
I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put it down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.
Before I was a Mom
I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important.
Before I was a Mom
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known The warmth, The joy, The love, The heartache, The wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much before I was a Mom.

In the Gold book AGAIN!

We cannot be prouder!!! And last night we had parents evening, and were told that you are doing really really well, so WELL DONE ....!!!!

Snow Snow and MORE snow!

Oh what fun!!!! Thank goodness it was school as usual last week - alot of schools closed, but not yours...you got dressed, ate breakfast and brushed your teeth in a time that i'm convinced qualifies as a world record! You even volunteered to put your hat, gloves and Scarf on and I couldn't get you out the door fast enough. your face was a picture, running along whoop whooping with delight, squealing as you brushed the snow from the windows of cars we passed along the way. It made a welcome change to be the one lagging behind - listening to commands of "hurry up Mummy!" whilst we crunched snow underfoot and looked around at the picturesque surroundings under a blanket of snow. To your absolute delight, your teacher opened the classroom door and told your class you would all be going out into the playground to build snowmen, and without even a kiss goodbye, you ran off, with the rest of your grinning school friends! What a pity it doesn't snow every monday!!!
